Background PSZ in partnership with Marie Stopes International intended to implement a sexual reproductive health programme in Masvingo, Matabeleland South and Midlands and required a baseline to inform programming.
Objectives The objectives for the baseline study were:

  • Knowledge, attitudes and behaviour about reproductive health
  • Availability, access, utilization and quality of reproductive health services in the targeted areas
  • Level and participation of men in reproductive health care and men and women’s role in decision making in relation to reproductive health and family planning
  • Contraceptive prevalence, unmet needs and features of contraceptive use, including method mix, failure and reasons for discontinuing
  • Needs and priorities for programme action
Activities Activities include: structured interviews and focus group discussions with men, women and key informant interviews with government, NGOS and other stakeholders.
