|Name:||Capacity building of Children First (CF) Partners in Financial Management|
|Background:||The Children First Project (CF) was an initiative of World Education Incorporated (WEI) to improve the welfare of Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Zimbabwe in partnership with other like-minded community-based and national organizations, thanks to financial and technical support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Children First’s current operations in Zimbabwe primarily focused on supporting highly vulnerable children in Zimbabwe, notably street children and HIV-infected children through its partners. In order to develop effective strategies to address the needs of these children, the project resolved to build the capacity of its partners in financial systems management. A number CF partners requested capacity building support in finance and monitoring and evaluation.
|Objectives:||The main objectives of the capacity building programme were to:
Desk review; recruitment of seven finance and accounting technical assistants, prepare monthly monitoring reports.
