The UN Women, grounded in the vision of equity enshrined in the Charter of The United Nation, works for the elimination of discrimination against women children and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. Placing womens rights at the centre of all its efforts, the UN Women led and coordinated United Nations system efforts to ensure that commitments on gender equality. Jimat performed the following function under the supervision of UNWOMEN: Assisted UN Women to develop partnership agreements with relevant government ministries and institutions, in relation to its 2012/13 Annual Work Plan. Provided support to UN Women and UNICEF in the UPR Technical Team Supported the development of joint UN Women and UNICEF proposal on Violence Against Girls Initiative, in close collaboration with UN Women and UNICEF technical teams and advisors Supported UN Women to develop a strategy for decentralized programming, in close partnership with Operations Manager. Supported UN Women and UNICEF in providing timely technical advisory services towards the review of the Marriage Laws and how they affect the lives of women and children Provided technical support and inputs into social cluster thematic chapters of the Gender Analysis Study, commissioned jointly by UN Women and the Ministry of Womens Affairs Contributed to girls and womens human rights issues in the constitution review process, including supporting to the Group 20 and national consultative review process. Provided support to UN Women in establishing Civil Society Advisory Group
