Food Security Policy Analysis
Jimat undertakes food security policy analysis. We use generic quantitative and qualitative tools for such exercises. We establish and quantify winners and losers from the articulated policy strategies. We quantify the impacts (positive and negative).   Our expertise encompasses the analysis of the impact of policy reforms, assessment of the adequacy of national and regional disaster mitigation policies, protocols and plans and exploration of the social and economic dimensions of food emergencies. We analyze the links between food security and poverty as well as between food security and regional trade. We undertake a holistic view of food security starting at the level of the individual and aggregating upwards to the household, community, national, regional and international levels.  Our definition of food security is equally encompassing and follows internationally recognized facets of the term, namely: availability, accessibility, utilization and stability of both crop and animal foods.
